Ingredients

Chocolate Milk Version

Regular Milk Version

  • 375 mL (1 1/2 cups) Dairyland 3.25% homogenized milk
  • 250 mL (1 cup) espresso or strong-brewed coffee
  • 56 g (2 oz) finely chopped dark chocolate
  • Up to 60 mL (1/4 cup) sugar, to taste

Garnish

  • 56 g (2 oz) finely chopped dark chocolate
  • Crushed toasted hazelnuts or almonds

Directions

Chocolate Milk Version

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate milk and coffee and set over medium heat to warm up. Add half of the sugar and stir to dissolve. Adjust sugar levels to taste (you can also microwave the mixture to heat it up and melt the sugar).
  2. Remove from the heat. Transfer the mixture to a measuring cup, then pour in the popsicle molds. Freeze until hard, at least 4 hours.

 

Regular Milk Version

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, coffee, and chopped chocolate. Set over medium heat and whisk until the chocolate is fully melted and incorporated (do not boil). Add half of the sugar and stir to dissolve. Taste and adjust sugar levels to taste.
  2. Remove from the heat. Transfer the mixture to a measuring cup, then pour in the popsicle molds. Freeze until hard, at least 4 hours.

 

To serve

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unmold the popsicles and set them on the prepared baking sheet. Return to the freezer.
  2. Place the chopped chocolate in a small bowl, then microwave at a low heat level, stirring every 10 seconds, until the chocolate is fully melted. Take the popsicles out of the freezer. Drizzle each popsicle with chocolate, then sprinkle with chopped nuts. Repeat to make all the popsicles. Serve immediately or keep frozen until ready to serve
